London

London

I spent 5 weeks in London over one of their hottest summers in July 2022. Our youngest son, Benjamin, had been invited to attend a Summer Intensive at The Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden, so whilst he was dancing, I got the chance to explore London with my watercolours and sketchbook.

What inspired me most what capturing the way the bright British summer sunlight fell across the shopfronts and street pavements in the early mornings and this resulted in a collected of paintings on canvas called “London Light”.

These were subsequently exhibited at Brick Lane Gallery in the Shoreditch area of London in June 2023 as part of a group show, “Faces and Places”.
